Getting started

Creating your first route if easy and painless

Updated over a week ago

What you’ll do

Create your first route, place orders on it, and dispatch to a driver who fulfills in the Routes Mobile app.

Prerequisites

  • Route Planner is enabled and visible in the left nav.

  • At least one driver and one vehicle exist in Settings → Drivers / Vehicles.

Step 1 — Create a route

  1. In Planner, click Add a route (or use the menu → Add a route).

  2. Choose Driver and Vehicle; set Start time, Start location, End location; optionally mark Recurring.

  3. Save. A route code is generated for the driver.

Step 2 — Add or import orders

  • Bring orders in via ERP sync, Email ingester, CSV upload, or add manually.

  • New orders appear on Orders and in the Order Queue until scheduled.

Step 3 — Place orders onto the route (Order Queue)

  • Open Order Queue to see not-yet-scheduled orders.

  • Drag/drop (or auto-assign) orders to the route. Typical orders include pickup, drop-off, tags, and an Order/PO/B#.

Step 4 — Plan in the view you prefer

  • Kanban: list of routes

  • Map: stops and orders on a map

  • Calendar (beta): stops per truck by day
Use filters for date and route.

Step 5 — Dispatch to the driver

  • Share the route code with the driver.

  • Driver opens Routes Mobile, enters the code, and works through stops.

  • Customers receive in-progress notifications.

Step 6 — Track and measure

  • Overview: live route status (night before and day-of).

  • Metrics: performance for drivers and trucks.

What the driver captures (proof of fulfillment)

  • Pickup/drop-off status, photos, signature, and recipient name—visible from Route Planner.

Troubleshooting

  • No drivers/vehicles? Add them in Settings → Drivers / Vehicles.

  • Orders missing from Planner? Confirm they exist on Orders and appear in Order Queue.

  • Driver can’t see the route? Confirm the route code and that they’re in Routes Mobile.
