If you made $600+ with Curri this calendar year, expect your 1099 from Stripe by January 31. Watch your email, verify your info, and reach out to [email protected] if you run into issues.
What is a 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC?
A 1099-NEC is a tax form that summarizes your earnings as an independent contractor. If you earn $600 or more in a year with Curri, a 1099-NEC will be sent to you and to the IRS (and in some cases, your state).
Who sends a 1099-NEC form?
Curri, through Stripe, reports your earnings to the IRS and sends you a copy.
Who receives a 1099-NEC form?
You do, if you:
Earned $600+ in the calendar year, and
Are based in the US or are a US taxpayer.
At year-end, Stripe will email you to opt in for electronic delivery of your 1099. If you already opted in, you’ll get a link to download your form.
The email will come from [email protected] and show a Curri-branded header.
1099s are sent by January 31 each year.
If you don’t receive a mailed copy by February 15, contact [email protected].
Why do I need to verify my information?
To make sure your 1099 is correct and delivered to the right place, Stripe will ask you to confirm:
Name
Address
Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
I didn’t receive an email from Stripe—what should I do?
Please double-check your spam or junk mail folder for an email with the subject line “Get your Curri tax forms faster by enabling e-delivery.”
If you haven’t received this email from Stripe, please reach out to Driver Support via email at [email protected].
When and where can I expect my 1099 tax form?
Forms are finalized in January.
You’ll receive either:
An email from Stripe with a link to download, or
A mailed copy (if you didn’t opt in for e-delivery).
Deadlines
IRS deadline: January 31, 2024 (paper or electronic).
Stripe internal deadline: January 25, 2024 (so forms are sent on time).
State filing considerations for 1099-NEC
Form 1099-NEC will not be included in the IRS 1099 Combined Federal/State Filing Program. The 1099-NEC is not part of the IRS Combined Federal/State program. This means the IRS will not forward it to your state. You may need to file directly with your state.
👉 We recommend speaking with a tax advisor to confirm your state’s requirements.
*The deadline to report 2024 tax forms to the IRS through Stripe 1099 is January 25, 2024. This will ensure the forms are filed with the IRS and a copy is sent to the recipients before the IRS deadline of January 31, 2024.
