Does Prop 22 apply to me?

Prop 22 only applies to California gig drivers performing deliveries on Curri's platform for deliveries that originate from within California. A California gig driver is a California resident that is not employed by any other motor carrier or courier company and is performing deliveries that originate within California using a personal vehicle (not a box truck, flatbed, or any other commercial motor vehicle)

What benefits does Prop 22 provide to California gig drivers?

See our article on Getting to Know Prop 22

How is Guaranteed Minimum Compensation calculated under Prop 22?

Guaranteed minimum compensation is an hourly rate equal to 120% of local minimum wage during active delivery time, plus $0.35 per mile for distance travelled directly to pickup and directly between pickup and drop off. See our further explanation of Guaranteed Minimum Compensation here.

Why would my original delivery payout be less than what Prop 22 requires sometimes?

  • Your payments are reviewed to ensure your total payments Curri meet or exceed the amount you’re guaranteed under Prop 22.

    • If payments you received from Curri during a payout period are less than the required guaranteed earnings we'll automatically add a Curri pay adjustment for the difference. No action is required from you.

    • If the amount of Curri delivery pay you earned is equal to or greater than the guaranteed earnings, your pay will stay the same.

    • You will only receive a pay adjustment if you’re eligible for additional earnings. Your earnings will never be reduced.

What does active delivery time mean related to your calculation of my Prop 22 minimum compensation?

Active delivery time is the period of time from when a driver begins their trip to when the driver completes the order, or to the time when the order is canceled by the customer. However, active delivery time does not include any time between accepting a delivery opportunity and completion of the delivery that the driver spends not actively completing the delivery (i.e. driving directly to pickup or from pickup to drop off locations).

Drivers will not be paid for active delivery time if they abandon or choose not to complete the delivery after they have accepted the offer, or if fraud or other misconduct impacting the accuracy of Curri's active delivery time data is detected by Curri.

How is the local minimum wage determined?

For each delivery, local minimum wage is based on publicly available information regarding the minimum wage in the location where a driver picks up a delivery.
